Sports Professionals

A common question after signing the contract is how to keep the money from disappearing. To prevent this, the advice of a true professional is needed.

Being a professional athlete can be a great experience and a unique opportunity for fame and fortune. It is important that every athlete gets the right advice to make the most of this opportunity. However, among the most fortunate can be the most vulnerable. Remember, "wealth maketh many friends" and those who flock to the money include so called money management operations. Unfortunately, anyone can call themselves a financial planner so you need to seek the advice of a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Like the athletic elite, only a small percentage of financial services professionals earn the CFP® designation because of the five rigorous hurdles to become and stay "Certified". This includes passing a 10-hour, 2-day exam of which only about 60% pass on their first try, plus you must have a college degree, have a minimum of three years of financial planning experience, abide by a strict code of ethics, and once Certified, CFP® practitioners are required to maintain technical competence and fulfill ethical obligations by completing a minimum 30 hours of continuing education every two years to stay on top of their game.

Just like the athletes' dedication and commitment to excellence, we put our clients’ interest first with sound, independent, objective advice. Be cautious of big brokerage houses, many of which come with a big name but force proprietary products in your portfolio even if it's not in the best interest of the athlete's goals. Before launching my own firm I spent many years as a Regional Vice President speaking to and training over 10,000+ advisors and I felt like the industry wasn’t progressing…still too many stock market guru's and not enough objective advice.

The contract and bonus money earned in a short sports career must last a lifetime. We will be with our clients long after their agents and ball clubs have moved on. We offer workshops via our Safe Money Academy for individuals, agents, and clubs to help safeguard against frivolous spending and budgeting habits in addition to private wealth management.  CLICK HERE to learn about how some of the worlds best athletes have been brought down to their financial knees.

Our firm is proud to be associated with Pro Sports Group.  John is not a sports agent but has an extensive network of agents and is a qualified Pro Sports Group Agent Graduate.
